SERVICE CHARGES

We are pleased to provide you with a full disclosure of our Service Charges.

To help you understand Funeral Costs we have prepared an outline of the categories that make up our funeral account. There are basically seven sections that make up the total funeral account:
Professional Service Charges, Facilities and Equipment, Transportation Charges, Merchandise,  Casket, Container or Urn Selections, Cash Disbursements and the government taxes on applicable items.

To aid consumers, legislation provides that all funeral homes must provide an itemized price list of all of their related Service Charges as well as casket and merchandise charges. This list must be available to consumers' upon request, without cost or obligation.

We pride ourselves on being one of the reasonably priced funeral homes in the area, although many expect our charges to be much higher given the level of professionalism, quality and ethical standards. Consumers and families finally can learn first hand that there is a difference and families needn't fall into the trap of traditional loyalty many funeral homes attempt to count on. Today, being good is not good enough.
We trust that this service will give you one more reason to give the Perrin Funeral Chapel Ltd. serious consideration when seeking a funeral home that is pro-actively working towards providing you the highest standards of services and facilities while offering sensible and affordable solutions.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

This section deals specifically with the administration and supervision of our staff, for their professional care and attention to all the necessary arrangements and documentation that are needed to conduct the services you require.  This area also covers the supervision by our professionally trained staff of both the visitation period  and funeral service for that particular family.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

As it suggests this covers the use of the building, for visitation purposes, and for the funeral service, including heat, hydro and fixtures.  This area also covers the use of our preparation room used to care for the deceased.

TRANSPORTATION CHARGES

Vehicles are used on your behalf, for:

  • Transporting the deceased from the place of death, to our facilities,
  • Using the Funeral Coach to transport the deceased to the Church or Cemetery
  • A vehicle for the six pallbearers to ride in procession to the cemetery
  • A utility vehicle that is used for acquiring all documentation, and delivering of necessary items.
  • And any additional transportation cost that may be incurred (such as transportation to the crematorium of choice.)

MERCHANDISE SELECTIONS

Some of the merchandise you might find in these section of the funeral account are: Register book, Acknowledgement cards and Valise, Memorial Cards, Bookmarks and or Timeless Tribute DVD's. Again, each is itemized based on your selection. As always, you are free to purchase or acquire these items from any other funeral home or other source.

CASKETS, URNS & OUTER CONTAINERS

This section is specific to the casket or container that a family selects, along with any outer container or urn. All of our caskets, containers and urns are priced separately - meaning the price you see for that item is only for that item.  Receiving funeral homes cannot charge any handling or administration fees when a casket is purchased elsewhere.

CASH DISBURSEMENTS

Cash Disbursements are as they imply. To aid the families we serve, we will cover third party expenses and place them on our account for their convenience.
Strict legislation ensures that these items are not marked up and only the exact "cost" is included on the funeral account.

Typical cash disbursements might include:

  • Newspaper Notices
  • Radio Announcements
  • Post Office Cards
  • Clergy Honorariums
  • Church Charges
  • Organist fees
  • Flowers
  • Cemetery Charges
  • Coroner's Cremation Certificates
  • Cremation Fees
  • Reception Catering
